I uncovered this gem from an unnamed MLB scout when talking about Dustin Ackley, the likely #2 pick by the M's after Strasburg goes to the Washington Natinals.
Well all right. First off, that's fantastic. I wouldn't walk on hot coals, but I might head up to Everett or down to Tacoma should Ackley be in the M's farm system this summer. Ackley hit over .400 during his three years at UNC, was a three time all-american, consensus AP Freshman of the Year (FOY), can run well enough to play CF, has the glove for 2B, has "it" according to Peter Gammons, and....has 1,500 friends on facebook. Done deal. He also doesn't take shit from other first basemen.
I'm all aboard the Sounders bandwagon just like everyone else. But, dear Seattle sports fans, please take heed of what the future has in store. Over time, the flopping, whining, complaining will reach critical mass and we will bear witness to acts like the following....

2) Player Pretending to be Hit By Linesman

A Seattle team is OKC bound, but this time, we can be happy. With their 9th trip to the WCWS (that's Women's College World Series, not World Championship Wrestling Softballers), it's now official. Seattle is a softball town.
First Topenga, now the Boz. I just dont know what to think.
Former NFL player-turned-actor Brian Bosworth has been arrested in Hollywood on suspicion of driving under the influence. Los Angeles police Sgt. Alex Ortiz says Bosworth was arrested early Friday. The 43-year-old Bosworth was being held on $5,000 bail.
Bosworth played for Oklahoma before retiring three years into a 10-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks because of a shoulder injury. A phone message left with Bosworth's agent early Friday wasn't immediately returned. Bosworth's screen credits include "Stone Cold," "Three Kings" and "The Longest Yard."
First off, I love the fact that Griffey is back. If you grew up in the Northwest during the 90s and don't still idolize The Kid, you're a communist.
New Husky defensive coordinator Nick Holt thinks we are awesome. Making $700K annually is pretty awesome too...man.
This is an awesome place. This is the only other school in the Pac-10 that's won a national championship in the last 25 years; this place and the University of Southern California. This place has awesome alumni, it has awesome tradition, it has awesome people like you, and this is a sleeping giant.
As painful as it was to lose the Sonics, it is great fun so to see what has become of them. The OKC Chunder are on pace for the worst season in NBA history, their attendance is falling, fans are booing, local writers are turning on the team, the owner's stake in his own company has gone from $2B to $42M and, oh yeah, they are in Oklahoma. At least one promise has been delivered on, all the "coverage on ESPN" that Bennett and Co. got OKC fans so excited about...
While many former Sonics are busy chasing underage tail, chasing the dream in Italy, or chasing league titles at Estrella Foothills HS, Steve Scheffler has been building an internet empire.
