"Lose the Super Bowl and Drive Drunk in a...Hyundai?"

Over the weekend Seahawks captain Lofa Totupu was pulled over for DUI with a BAC of .158. That's a good amount of alcohol but nowhere near the top 10 on the athlete BAC standings.

It is not that shocking that another 'hawk got arrested for DUI in Kirkland (what is it about Kirkland, Stiff drinks, slow speed limits?).  Everyone has been writing about how Lofa is very sorry, and how shocked they are that such a class act would do something like this.  The most shocking part of the story is being overlooked by so-called career journalists.

"Tatupu's 2006 Hyundai Accent first blazed past the officer just after 2 a.m., about 10 blocks from where he pulled over on Northeast 85th Street." 

Wait, wait, wait, WHAT!? I haven't had the pleasure of driving a 2006 Hyundai Accent (the last time I pushed mad whip like that was with a 2002 green Hyundai). I see no excuse for this. I'll forgive the DUI, it's practically a right of passage among pro athletes, but to get one in a Hyundai? Does Lofa have more babys' mamas than we know about? He just signed  one of the biggest contract for a linebacker in the NFL ($42 million contract extension). 

Lofa has apologized profusely and said that it was a  "poor decision."  The only poor decision is rocking your late model Hyundai into Mickey D's parking lot.  At least be caught at Ricks at 2am in a stretch hummer, or in a Ferrari going 140 on the freeway.
